In 2015, Intel announced that the future is in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Internet_of_things\">Internet of Things (IoT)<\/a> and presented a collection of powerful solutions that would help engineers to create the next Earth shattering applications. The three main products were the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intel_Edison\">Edison<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intel_Galileo\">Galileo<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intel_RealSense\">RealSense<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, Robolit was invited\u00a0as a technology consultant as part of the design team that produced the live technology show presented by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brian_Krzanich\">Intel CEO Brian Krzanich<\/a>\u00a0at the San Fransisco IDF 2015.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BuM_TO2MXnQ?ecver=1\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe> To\u00a0demonstrate the power of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intel_Edison\">Edison Computer-on-Module<\/a> devices a family of small form factor hexapedal robots were built by the Intel research team. Our task in the show was to make a large swarm of these robots to perform a synchronized dance routine.\u00a0Our design was based on\u00a0a distributed network of agents each performing a series of footwork as synchronized by a centrally broadcasted commands.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gzBOW_8XxTQ?ecver=1\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In addition to these small hexapods a larger machine with a unique sliding locomotion mode was also featured in the show. Designed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gotrobots.com\">Nick Donaldson<\/a>, and aptly named <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gotrobots.com\/marauder\/\">Marauder<\/a>, this beast of a machine led the dance routine. Robolit designed the light effects along the legs of the machine.
